First Phase 1 Projects Launched

The first five Cancer Innovation Challenge funded projects were officially launched today. The five projects were successfully awarded funding in Phase 1 of the first Cancer Innovation Challenge SBRI funding competition looking for New approaches to record and integrate cancer PROMs (patient recorded outcome measures) and PREMs (patient recorded experience measures).

The five companies behind the projects are:

Docobo Ltd, Surrey
My Clinical Outcomes Ltd, London
Openbrolly, Elgin
Px HealthCare Ltd, London
Sitekit Health Ltd, Isle of Skye

The companies have been funded up to £25k each to undertake a 3 month feasibility study for their proposed digital healthcare solution. At the end of the three months, they will be invited to apply for a further £100k each to take their project on to a 6 month development and evaluation period in Phase 2. Up to 2 companies will be successfull in progressing to Phase 2. 

A launch event and stakeholder engagement workshop took place today in Edinburgh where the companies had an opportunity to engage with various relevant stakeholders including patient representatives, clinicians, academics, NHS innovation and NHS eHealth staff and discuss key issues and challenges they may face.
