Cancer Innovation Challenge at NCRI 2018

3rd December 2018

The National Cancer Research Institute’s (NCRI) annual conference visited Scotland for the first time in November 2018. Held at the SECC during 4-6 November, the conference is the UK’s largest forum showcasing the latest advances in cancer research.

Opened by the First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, the conference provides a platform for researchers, clinicians, people affected by cancer and industry representatives to come together to discuss, present and showcase high-quality research and was a perfect platform for the Cancer Innovation Challenge (CIC) to have its first high profile exhibition stand.

Armed with a brand new animated film commissioned from Firefly UK Design Agency and a suite of new publicity materials incorporating the designs from the film, the CIC hosted a double stand and was joined by the three Phase 2 companies, Canon Medical Research Europe, My Clinical Outcomes and Px HealthCare.

The conference presented the CIC with a perfect opportunity to let the cancer research community know about the work we’ve been supporting and also to showcase the three final Phase 2 projects. The CIC received a great response with hundreds of delegates stopping by to find out more. All three companies also had a very positive feedback to their projects and hopefully many leads to follow up on.

Thank you to DHI and Stratified Medicine and Data Lab for all their help with staffing the stand!
