A chance for anyone interested in this funding competion to ask questions about the call and the subject area. All answers will be posted on this page so that any potential applicant can access the same information.

A video recording of and presentations from the Information Session and Collider Event for Interested Applicants on 12 October 2017 is available on the event page.

Answers to general questions about the SBRI Framework can be found on the SBRI Framework page

1. When will the competition open?

The competition will be open for registrations and applications at noon on Friday 8 September.

The competition brief is available now

2. When will the competition close?

The deadline for registrations is midnight 27 October 2017

The deadline for your final applications is midnight 10 November 2017

3. How will the successful applications be chosen?

Proposals will initially go through an assessment based on two gateway questions related to eligibility and scope. Once proposals pass the gateway, they will then be assessed by an expert group of selected assessors (five assessors per application). Information on the assessment criteria will be available on the Invitation to Tender (available to potential applicants after registration when the competition opens).

The scores from these assessments will then be moderated at a moderation panel which will then produce a shortlist for recommendation to the Strategic Management Board.

The final selection will be made by the Strategic Management Board and they may apply a strategic and portfolio approach to the final decision.

4. Can I submit more than one application?

Yes, you can submit more than one application.

5. Is this only open to Scottish companies?

No, the funding competition is open to any organisation of any size based in the European Union (EU) that can demonstrate a credible and practical route to market.

6. Will data be provided to me for my application?

We DO NOT provide the data sets to applicants. Applicants must incorporate arrangements (and costs) to access the data sets they require into their Phase 1 proposal, plan and budget. The competition brief contains a Guide to Accessing NHS Data (Section 10 of the brief).

7. Can I register to apply after 27 October 2017?

No, registrations to apply closed at midnight (BST) on Friday 27 October 2017 and no late registrations can be accepted after that.
